Research on performance of twin-core spun yarn and fabric

International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology, 2019
Purpose As one kind of filament/staple fiber composite yarn, core spun yarn has been widely used, especially on Jeans. However, there is only one filament in the commonly used core spun yarn, such as spandex, and the performance of the one filament often is influenced during dyeing and finishing.

Theoretical Prediction on Tensile Model of Wool/Spandex Core-spun Yarn

Journal of Industrial Textiles, 2008
With the innovation of spinning method and Lycra® fiber, wool elastic core-spun yarn is applied for more industrial end-uses, which make it meaningful to study the mechanical property of wool/spandex core-spun yarn. Tensile property of staple yarns has been studied by many researchers.

Effect of elastane draft on the rheological modelling of elastane core spun yarn

Journal of the Textile Institute, 2012
The main purpose of modelling the yarn structure is to find relations that are more reliable giving the behaviour of the yarn starting from its components. In this paper, the identification of the mechanical behaviour of the elastic core spun yarns by a rheological modelling on the basis of pre-existent phenomenological models is presented.

Construction of twin staple-core spun yarn with two points of yarn formation in one twisting process

Textile Reseach Journal, 2014
In order to diversify the structure of spun yarn as textile material and to develop novel composite spun yarn with good functionality, we investigated how to construct single yarn with a twin staple-core and sheath structure and/or adopt the production method of triplet spun yarn using an experimental ring spinning frame.

Investigation into the effects of yarn structure and yarn count on different types of core-spun yarns

Textile Research Journal, 2021
The scope of this research is to study the effect of yarn structure and yarn count on properties of types of core-spun yarns, including elastic core/T400, elastic core/Lycra, dual core, and tri-core yarns. Five types of yarn structures and three yarn counts were produced.

Structure and Performance of Elastic Core-Spun Yarn

Textile Research Journal, 2004
In this experiment, we use a 44.4 dtex/4f spandex filament as the core and cotton fibers as the sheath to spin 19.7 tex elastic core-spun yarn. In order to improve yarn performance, we examine the yams cross-sectional structure and investigate the effect of draw ratio and feed-in angle of the spandex on the yarns' structure and performance.

26—OPEN-END-SPUN CORE-SPUN YARNS

The Journal of The Textile Institute, 1977
A mechanism for producing open-end-spun core-spun yarns is described, and the method of operation is explained. Examples of open-end-spun core-spun yarns are given. Yarn properties are discussed, attention being drawn to the different functions performed by the core and the sheath.
