After Core Collapse. What? [PDF]
As our understanding of core collapse in globular clusters has improved through detailed computer simulations, attention has naturally turned to dynamical evolution of globular clusters after core collapse. The results of recent simulations of post-collapse cluster evolution are reviewed.

Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...

We present an analysis of three near-infrared (NIR; 1.0–2.4 μ m) spectra of the SN 2003fg–like/“super-Chandrasekhar” Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) SN 2009dc, SN 2020hvf, and SN 2022pul at respective phases of +372, +296, and +294 days relative to the epoch

The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

Supernova Siblings and Spectroscopic Host Galaxy Properties
Over the past century, supernova (SN) searches have detected multiple supernovae (SNe) in hundreds of individual galaxies. So-called SN siblings discovered in the same galaxy present an opportunity to constrain the dependence of the properties of SNe on ...

Explosive nucleosynthesis in core-collapse supernovae
The specific mechanism and astrophysical site for the production of half of the elements heavier than iron via rapid neutron capture (r-process) remains to be found.

3D‐Printed Serial Snap‐Through Architectures for Programmable Mechanical Response
A serial snap‐through architecture is realized using compact 3D‐printed von Mises truss units arranged in a staged cascade. Their geometry and boundary conditions program multistage mechanical responses with plateaux and re‐hardening regimes. An inverted‐compliance model predicts these behaviors and enables analytical design of programmable force ...

Neutrino flavor instabilities in a time-dependent supernova model
A dense neutrino medium such as that inside a core-collapse supernova can experience collective flavor conversion or oscillations because of the neutral-current weak interaction among the neutrinos.
