Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

SYNTHETIC OBSERVATIONS OF MAGNETIC FIELDS IN PROTOSTELLAR CORES [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2017
ABSTRACT The role of magnetic fields in the early stages of star formation is not well constrained. In order to discriminate between different star formation models, we analyze 3D magnetohydrodynamic simulations of low-mass cores and explore the correlation between magnetic field orientation and outflow orientation over time.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Experimental study of alternating magnetic field in laminated ferromagnetic core

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
At engineering simulations of magnetic fields in ferromagnetic cores standard Preisach and Jiles-Atherton models are commonly used. At that a material magnetic properties are considered similar in all points of a core.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Mean-field fluid behavior of the Gaussian core model [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2000
We show that the Gaussian core model of particles interacting via a penetrable repulsive Gaussian potential, first considered by Stillinger (J. Chem. Phys. 65, 3968 (1976)), behaves like a weakly correlated ``mean field fluid'' over a surprisingly wide density and temperature range.

Magnetic Nanoparticles with Core Shell: Macroscopic Model and Coercive Field

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2010
There exists nonhomogeneous structure in mechanosynthesized nanoparticles consisting of an ordered core surrounded by the shell. The shell may be structurally and magnetically disordered, or it may be ordered.

Effects of the Librationally Induced Flow in Mercury’s Fluid Core with an Outer Stably Stratified Layer

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal, 2023
Observational constraints on Mercury’s thermal evolution and magnetic field indicate that the top part of the fluid core is stably stratified. Here we compute how a stable layer affects the core flow in response to Mercury’s main 88 day longitudinal ...
