Field distribution anomalies and dielectric failure mechanisms associated with core surface defects in liquid-insulated power transformers [PDF]
Core burr defects are latent sources of electric field distortion and insulation degradation in oil-immersed power transformers. To elucidate their physical mechanism and quantitative impact, this study combines finite element analysis and field testing ...

ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...

Effective Field Theory and the No-Core Shell Model
In finite model space suitable for many-body calculations via the no-core shell model (NCSM), I illustrate the direct application of the effective field theory (EFT) principles to solving the many-body Schrödinger equation. Two different avenues for fixing

A Long-lived Lunar Magnetic Field Powered by Convection in the Core and a Basal Magma Ocean
An internally generated magnetic field once existed on the Moon. This field reached high intensities (∼10–100 μ T, perhaps intermittently) from ∼4.3 to 3.6 Gyr ago and then weakened to ≲5 μ T before dissipating by ∼1.9–0.8 Gyr ago.

On the force field optimisation of $$\beta$$-lactam cores using the force field Toolkit
AbstractWhen employing molecular dynamics (MD) simulations for computer-aided drug design, the quality of the used force fields is highly important. Here we present reparametrisations of the force fields for the core molecules from 9 different $$\beta$$ β -lactam classes, for which we utilized the force field Toolkit ...
