Core Inflation, Expectations and Inflation Dynamics in Brazil
This work investigates the adequacy of core inflation measures as indicators of forward-looking expectations in the hybrid new Keynesian Phillips curve (HNKPC) for the Brazilian economy. For that purpose, we use monthly data between January 2002 and August 2015 and the heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation consistent generalized method of moments (HAC-

Has core inflation been doing a good job in Brazil? [PDF]
This paper assesses the performance of the core inflation measures calculated by the Brazilian Central Bank (BCB). The evidence shows that they do not meet some key statistical criteria that a good core inflation should have: unbiasedness and the ability

Sleep Alters the Velocity of Physiological Brain Pulsations in Humans
Sleep alters I/CSF oscillatory flow, driven by increased respiratory (29%) and vasomotor pulsation (21%) velocities, while cardiovascular pulsations decreased by (22%). Velocity is quantified using optical flow analysis of MREG data. Spectral power increases alongside these pulsations (spatial correlation, r = 0.35 and r = 0.39, respectively ...

A first assessment of some measures of core inflation for the euro area [PDF]
Core inflation plays an important role in the deliberations of monetary policymakers. In this paper we evaluate a number of measures of core inflation constructed using euro area data.

p16Ink4a‐Positive Hepatocytes Drive Liver Fibrosis Through Activation of LIFR Family Pathway
This study found that, following the long‐term CCl4 treatment, p16high hepatocytes appeared in zone 3, spatially co‐localizing with fibrotic areas. A specific cluster of p16high hepatocytes upregulated CTF1/LIF expression which induced HSC activation and further liver fibrosis, as revealed by single cell transcriptomic analysis.

Low Inflation Bends the Phillips Curve around the World
This paper finds strong support for a Phillips curve that becomes nonlinear when inflation is “low”—which our baseline model defines as less than 3 percent.

Primordial gravastar from inflation
The de Sitter (dS) bubbles can nucleate spontaneously during inflation, and will be stretched by the cosmological expansion to astrophysical scale. We report on a novel phenomenon that some of such bubbles might develop into the gravastar (the ultra ...

Core inflation at the Bank of Canada: A critique [PDF]
Core inflation is a useful concept for the theory and practice of monetary policy. The Bank of Canada maintains, in addition, that core inflation should be, and has in fact been, a useful predictor of headline inflation.

Bioabsorbable Endovascular Adhesive Tape (BEAT) for Improving Vascular Regeneration
A bioabsorbable endovascular adhesive tape (BEAT) platform based on a hierarchical polyelectrolyte complex is developed to enhance drug delivery in the DCB system. The coating enables rapid transfer to the vessel, provides short‐term mechanical support, and promotes both immediate transfer and long‐term retention of drugs at the lesion site.
