This article introduces the notion of the Core inverse as an alternative to the group inverse. Several of its properties are derived with a perspective towards possible applications. Furthermore, a matrix partial ordering based on the Core inverse is introduced and extensively investigated.

Core inverse versus basis inverse

A new extension of the core inverse
Journal of Computational and Applied MathematicsIt is well known that none of the various generalizations of the core inverse of a matrix proposed so far (e.g., the core-EP inverse, the DMP inverse, and the GC inverse) serve as an inner inverse of the given matrix. Further, such generalizations of inverses do not exist for nilpotent matrices.
