Apparent core losses and core losses in five-limb amorphous transformer of 160 kVA

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1998
Significant modifications of the shape of magnetic flux in columns and yokes were observed in the magnetic circuit of four amorphous cores used in a 3-phase transformer. The magnetic losses measured experimentally were significantly higher than the ones calculated theoretically.

Deconvolution of core loss electron energy loss spectra

2009
Experimental electron energy loss spectra (EELS) are related to inelastic scattering events in the sample by the so called single scattering distribution S(E) [1] (the differential cross section after integration in the detector acceptance angle). The relationship between the experimental spectrum and its S(E) is complicated because of several effects,

Mathematical descriptions of core losses

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1953
This paper presents results so far achieved by the writers in endeavoring to gain an understanding of the factors controlling a-c core losses in modern magnetic materials. Losses have been measured on a number of cores over a range of frequencies and at flux densities in the middle portions of the magnetization curves.

Enhancement of resolution in core-loss and low-loss spectroscopy in a monochromated microscope

Ultramicroscopy, 2006
The significant enhancement of the energy resolution in the new generation of commercially available monochromated transmission electron microscopes presents new challenges in term of selecting the correct experimental conditions and understanding the various effects that can potentially influence the quality of the EELS data.

Error analysis of high frequency core loss measurement for low-permeability low-loss magnetic cores

2016 IEEE 2nd Annual Southern Power Electronics Conference (SPEC), 2016
Magnetic components significantly contribute to the dissipated loss in power electronic converters. Measuring the true value of dissipated power in these components is highly desirable, since it can be used to verify the optimum design of these components.

Gains and losses at core allocations

Journal of Mathematical Economics, 1975
Abstract The search for a coalition which can possibly improve upon a given allocation and the redistribution of endowments within such a coalition are conducted through the use of prices. Prices permit the expression of how much every agent gains or loses in the allocation.

Core loss in amorphous cut cores with air gaps

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1989
The effects of air gaps on the high-frequency core loss in cut cores made of amorphous ribbons are discussed and methods to reduce the core loss in them are proposed. It has been found that the high-frequency core loss in amorphous cut cores with air gaps increases strikingly with increasing air-gap length. The increase in the core loss due to air gaps

On the coefficients of core loss formulas for electrical machines

IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012
In this paper the behavior of core loss coefficients is studied using a new method of core loss separation. This method eliminates the assumption of uniform magnetic field distribution in a material especially at high frequencies. With this separation method, the hysteresis and eddy current coefficients are calculated using the original Steinmetz ...
