Core mixture based on modified lignosulfonate.
Ferrous Metallurgy. Bulletin of Scientific , Technical and Economic Information, 2023Technical lignosulfonates (LST) are a by-product in the production of cellulose by the sulfite method. Lignosulphonates are the third most widely used binder in foundries (after clay and liquid glass). They are used for rawforming, dryforming, making rods in heated tooling, non-stick paints, etc. Molding mixtures with only one LST are not used, as they

Entropic interfaces in hard-core model amphiphilic mixtures
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005We investigate bulk and interfacial properties of a recently proposed hard-body model for a ternary mixture of amphiphilic particles, spheres and needles using density functional theory. The simple model amphiphiles are formed by bonding a vanishingly thin needle tail radially to a hard-sphere head group.

Electroconvection in nematic mixtures of bent-core and calamitic molecules
Physical Review E, 2009The onset of electroconvection in binary mixtures of a bent-core and a rodlike nematic has been characterized by measuring the threshold voltage U(c) and the critical wave number of the pattern in a wide range of frequencies f. In the mixtures rich in bent-core molecules, a "conductive-prewavy2-patternless-prewavy1" morphological sequence has been ...

Examination of the Properties of Resin Bonded Core Mixtures
Materials Science Forum, 2017The production technology for automotive foundry castings has developed significantly during the past decade. The production of cylinder hats with more and more complex designs could be rather challenging for core makers. Heating might cause the annealing of the core, thus, the buoyancy of the molten metal increases which might cause the movement of ...

Dielectric properties of mixtures of a bent-core and a calamitic liquid crystal
Physical Review E, 2010Dielectric spectroscopy measurements have been performed on a bent-core nematic liquid crystal and on its binary mixtures with a calamitic nematic. We have detected more dispersions in the bent-core compound than in the calamitic one, including one at an unusually low frequency of a few kilohertz.

Demixing and mixing of binary hard-core Yukawa mixtures
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1992Demixing and mixing of a model binary mixture of hard spheres interacting through a Yukawa tail are investigated using the hypernetted-chain and Percus–Yevick integral equations. The dependence of the local composition of the mixture on the interaction potential and its relationship with the phase stability is studied.
