On the (non)linear dynamics of low-frequency dissipative ion-acoustic structures in nonextensive collisional magneto-rotating plasmas

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control
A rotating magnetized electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasma where ions collide with atoms or molecules is considered to investigate the impact of Coriolis force, dissipation, and ion temperature on the occurrence and oblique propagation of ion-acoustic ...

Computational research on film cooling under rotating frame by an anisotropic turbulence model

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2013
A new anisotropic k–ω turbulence model was proposed in this paper. This new model, with the standard k–ω model and the standard k–ε model was embedded in our three-dimensional (3-D) Navier–Stokes code to compute rotational film cooling.

Dry intrusions and warm‐core development in Medicanes: Insights from a multi‐case analysis and the peculiar evolution of Ianos

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Mediterranean tropical‐like cyclones show a clear seasonality, with September cyclones exhibiting the deepest convection and Ianos representing the most extreme case. While one or more dry intrusions are typically detected during the cyclone life cycle, Ianos instead features two much weaker descending airflows.

Modal simulation and experiment analysis of coriolis mass flowmeter

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This article describes the simulation and experimental determination of the oscillation modes of a Coriolis Mass Flowmeter (CMF). The authors use the SolidWorks software to create a suitable model which is a double U-type of CMF.

Modulation of turbulence and mesoscale structure in nested large‐eddy simulations with a gray‐zone parent domain

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
The cell perturbation (CP) method mitigate mesoscale structural perturbations entering large‐eddy simulations (LES) from gray‐zone parent domains. The turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) bias‐filtering effect of CP increases with nesting ratio and is most pronounced under weakly convective conditions.

Implementation of Argo real time quality controls by Coriolis data centre

open access: yes, 2019
This document describes how the Real Time Quality Control (RTQC) tests are implemented at the Coriolis data Centre. These tests are defined in the Argo quality control manuals (#RD1 and #RD2). The present document provides a detailed description of their
