Comparison of central corneal thickness measurements with standard ultrasonic pachymetry and optical devices

open access: yesAustralasian journal of optometry, The, 2019
Background To compare the repeatability and agreements of central corneal thickness measurements of healthy individuals obtained by Scheimpflug-Placido topographer (Sirius), anterior segment spectral domain optical coherence tomography (Spectralis) (AS ...

Prediction of ocular irritation by corneal pachymetry

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 1987
Corneal pachymetry performed 3 days after application of a variety of test materials to the rabbit eye was found to be predictive of the eye irritation classification determined by observing the ocular response for 21 days. The test materials included NaOH, methanol, isopropanol, acetone, cyclohexanone, hexane and a shampoo. A 0.1-ml sample of the test

Incorporating corneal pachymetry into the management of glaucoma

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2009
Intraocular pressure (IOP) results from a dynamic balance between aqueous humor formation and outflow. The simplest technique to measure IOP is indentation tonometry. Another technique is applanation. These methods are related to the elasticity of the eye, which mainly depends on its thickness and hysteresis.

Comparison of ultrasonic pachymetry with orbscan in corneal haze

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2007
To compare the results of ultrasonic and Orbscan pachymetry in corneal haze not related to surgery. An institutionally based, prospective, controlled clinical trial included 40 eyes of 40 consecutive patients with corneal haze not related to surgery. Fifty normal eyes were used as a control group to calculate the customized acoustic factor. Corneal haze

Canine corneal thickness measured by ultrasonic pachymetry

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1991
SUMMARY Ultrasonic pachymetry was used to measure central, superior peripheral, and temporal peripheral corneal thicknesses of 75 dogs (150 eyes) with normal corneas, anterior chambers, and intraocular pressure. Mean corneal thickness averaged over the 2 eyes, 3 locations, and 75 dogs was 562 ± 6.2 μm.
