Continuous Measurement of Corneal Dehydration With Online Optical Coherence Pachymetry

Cornea, 2006
Online optical coherence pachymetry (online OCP) allows continuous central corneal thickness measurements over time. In this study, the effect of dehydration on corneal tissue was investigated with online OCP.Twelve eyes of 11 patients were examined with online OCP, and the central corneal thickness was registered over 5 minutes after insertion of an ...

Continuous Non-contact Corneal Pachymetry with a High Speed Reflectometer

Journal of Refractive Surgery, 1998
ABSTRACT PURPOSE: We developed an instrument that permits non-contact, continuous, high speed and high precision monitoring of corneal thickness and tested the stability and reproducibility of measurements made over extended time periods and under various conditions of low surface reflectivity encountered during protracted exposure of the ...

Scleral lens influence on corneal curvature and pachymetry in keratoconus patients

Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, 2015
To investigate the influence of full scleral lenses on corneal curvature and pachymetry in keratoconus patients. In this intervention study, 20 eyes of 14 patients were measured by Scheimpflug imaging (Pentacam HR, Oculus) at two time points: directly and ≥1 week after scleral lens removal.

Corneal thickness measurements with the Orbscan Topography System and ultrasonic pachymetry

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1997
To compare corneal thickness measurements obtained with a new instrument, the Orbscan Topography System, with those obtained with the DGH ultrasonic pachymeter and to assess the agreement and repeatability of the two devices.LSU Eye Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.Measurement agreement was assessed in 51 eyes of 26 normal volunteers using both ...

Evaluation of Corneal Pachymetry Measurements by Galilei Dual Scheimpflug Camera

European Journal of Ophthalmology, 2011
Purpose We present an evaluation of corneal pachymetry measurements by Galilei dual Scheimpflug camera by comparing central corneal thickness measured by Galilei with Orbscan II and ultrasonic pachymetry. Setting Ophthalmic Research ...

Agreement of Corneal Thickness Measurement Using Slitlamp and Ultrasound Pachymetry

Eye & Contact Lens: Science & Clinical Practice, 2012
To estimate central corneal thickness (CCT) using a slitlamp biomicroscope and analyze its agreement with ultrasonic pachymetry.Based on the clinical estimation of CCT on slitlamp examination, 133 eyes of 123 patients were assigned to 3 groups: CCT less than 500 μm, 500 to 600 μm, and greater than 600 μm.

Improved ultrasound pachymetry at corneal mid-periphery

1987
Surgeons performing radial keratotomies currently rely mainly on central and paracentral measurements to set blade depths since the mid-peripheral thickness is normally greater (Martola & Baum, 1968; Tomlinson, 1972). However, the occurrence of corneal irregularities and resultant perforations together with the increasing use of other forms of kerato ...

Comparison of optical and ultrasound central corneal pachymetry.

Bulletin de la Societe belge d'ophtalmologie, 2001
In 100 eyes of 50 patients central corneal thickness was measured comparing optical to ultrasound pachymetry. With optical pachymetry the values were 1 to 40 micrometer (microns) lower in 64 eyes compared to ultrasound pachymetry. With ultrasound pachymetry the values were 1 to 18 microns lower in 26 eyes compared to optical pachymetry.
