Corneal thickness and axial length
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2005A thin central cornea has been reported to be a risk factor for developing primary open-angle glaucoma among ocular hypertensive eyes. A thin scleral bed of lamina cribrosa seen in deeply excavated optic nerves in glaucomatous eyes is a quintessential finding in advanced glaucomatous eyes. Association between thin cornea and weak sclera contributing to

Diurnal variation in corneal thickness
Experimental Eye Research, 1973Abstract Corneal thickness was measured at three different times of day in rabbits. The rabbit cornea showed a significant diurnal variation regarding thickness. In most cases, the cornea was thickest in the forenoon, and then thinning followed. It usually became thinnest in the afternoon, but sometimes at about noon.

CORNEAL THICKNESS CHANGES ACCOMPANYING CENTRAL CORNEAL CLOUDING
Optometry and Vision Science, 1971ABSTRACT Corneal thickness measurements were made before and after central corneal clouding was caused by a tightly fitted contact lens. The area of corneal thickening corresponded to the observed area of central corneal clouding.

The effect of corneal thickness and corneal curvature on pneumatonometer measurements
Current Eye Research, 2002The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of corneal topography and thickness on intraocular pressure (IOP) and pulse amplitude (PA) as measured using the Ocular Blood Flow Analyzer (OBFA) pneumatonometer (Paradigm Medical Industries, Utah, USA).47 university students volunteered for this cross-sectional study: mean age 20.4 yrs, range

A simple technique for measurement of corneal thickness
Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, 1998Measurement of corneal thickness has potential benefit both in the fitting of contact lenses and in monitoring any pathology that could affect corneal thickness. Corneal thickness measurement is undertaken using an accessory to the biomicroscope, the optical pachometer, or by means of expensive apparatus such as the ultrasonic pachometer.
