Nigericin Induces Paraptosis‐Like Cell Death Instead of Pyroptosis in Corneal Keratocytes
Morphological evidence of pyroptosis‐like cell death was observed in cultured human keratocytes, accompanied by elevated IL‐1β release and loss of mitochondrial membrane potential. However, treatment with nigericin induced paraptosis instead, marked by extensive cytoplasmic vacuolation.
