Wedge-based corner model for widely separated view matching
Object recognition supported by user interaction for service robots, 2003A novel interest point detector is presented in this paper. It uses a wedge model that characterizes corners by their orientation and angular width. The detector is compared to two popular corner detectors: Harris and SUSAN. It is also shown how widely separated views can be matched by using information provided by the detector to approximate local ...

Dominating Unsteadiness Flow Structures in Corner Separation Under High Mach Number
AIAA Journal, 2019Corner separation is a key factor affecting the aerodynamic performance of compressors, whereas corner separation under a high-Mach-number condition is a scientific problem with practical engineeri...

Asymptotic theory of laminar flow separation at a corner
Fluid Dynamics, 1991The development of the reverse flow structure in the neighborhood of a corner in a viscous incompressible laminar flow at high Reynolds numbers is investigated numerically. It is found that as the angle of inclination increases the internal structure of the reverse flow zone becomes more complex as a result of secondary separation.

Effect of face separation in corner-cube reflectors
Optical Engineering, 2009We explore the effect of separation between the faces of a corner-cube reflector on its performance. This is important because, in several retroreflector applications, one (or more) face of the module is some type of modulator. The fabrication and assembly of these modules invariably results in, or requires, gaps between the faces.

Experimental Study of the Corner Flow Separation on a Simplified Junction
AIAA Journal, 2015This study focuses on the corner flow separation occurring in a simplified wing-body junction composed of a NACA0015 twisted wing mounted on a flat plate at a Reynolds number based on the wing chord of Rec=1.2×106. Wind-tunnel test measurements are carried out in the corner area including extensive oil-flow visualizations, high speed particle image ...

The operability of the axial compressor is generally limited by endwall flows; either at the casing mainly due to the tip leakage flows or at the hub mainly due to three-dimensional corner separations. Therefore, it is crucial to improve flows near the

Vortex Generators for Corner Separation Caused by Shock-Wave/Boundary-Layer Interactions
Journal of Aircraft, 2019Wind tunnel experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of vortex generators on a transonic corner flow separation, resulting from the interaction of a normal shock wave with a turbulent b...

This paper describes unsteady flow phenomena of a two-stage transonic axial compressor, especially the flow field in the first stator. The stator blade with highly loaded is likely to cause a flow separation on the hub, so-called hub-corner separation ...

Steady flow separation along a straight streamwise corner
Applied Scientific Research, 1976This note considers the steady incompressible flow of a laminar or turbulent boundary layer along a straight streamwise corner, formed by two flat plates intersecting each other at an arbitrary included angle. It is assumed that the undisturbed freestream is parallel or roughly parallel to the cornerline and that the intersecting corner-walls are ...
