Linear Porokeratosis With Giant Cornoid Lamella

open access: yesArchives of Dermatology, 1976
• A linear form of porokeratosis, with features that we believe have not been previously described, is presented. The lesions occurred in a dermatome distribution; some of them had a central mass of parakeratotic keratin, shaped like a horn, which we designated a "giant cornoid lamella." Cornoid Lamella in Pachyonychia Congenita

open access: yesArchives of Dermatology, 1978
• A 13-year-old white girl was admitted with pachyonychia congenita, Kumer and Loos type 1. In addition to all nails being distally elevated, plantar keratoses and bullae, and a scalloped tongue, the patient also had keratotic papules on the elbows and knees. A cornoid lamella was identified in the histologic examination of a keratotic papule.

A Case of Giant Porokeratosis with Vestiges of a Cornoid Lamella

open access: yesJournal of Dermatology, 2005
We report a case of giant porokeratosis combined with ulcerative squamous cell carcinoma. In our patient, we biopsied the skin, including the edge of the skin lesion, four times until we obtained histologic proof of a cornoid lamella. After we had established the diagnosis, we totally excised the affected skin including a 10-mm safety margin, because ...

Cornoid lamellae associated with follicular infundibulum and acrosyringium in porokeratosis

Journal of Dermatology, 2009
ABSTRACTSkin lesions of porokeratosis consist of an atrophic center bordered by a peripheral grooved keratotic ridge that corresponds histopathologically to the cornoid lamella. Originally porokeratosis was named based on the assumption that the columns of parakeratosis emerge from the ostia of eccrine ducts. Despite this, it is generally accepted that

Morphogenesis of the cornoid lamella: histochemical, immunohistochemical, and ultrastructural study of porokeratosis

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 1991
To elucidate the morphogenesis of cornoid lamellae (CL) in porokeratosis, skin lesions of three cases of disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis and a case of linear porokeratosis were examined. By N‐(7‐dimethylamino‐4‐methyl‐3‐coumarinyl)maleimide staining, SH groups were present in the living layer of the epidermis beneath CL and irregularly ...

Exclusive facial porokeratosis: Histopathologically showing follicular cornoid lamellae

Journal of Dermatology, 2011
AbstractPorokeratosis is a heterogeneous group of disorders that are mostly inherited in an autosomal dominant fashion. It has a wide variety of clinical manifestations with a characteristic histological finding of cornoid lamella. Porokeratosis usually affects the trunk or the extremities.

open access: yesJAAD Case Reports, 2015
