Analysis of immortal-time effect in post-infarction ventricular septal defect

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2023
IntroductionTime-fixed analyses have traditionally been utilized to examine outcomes in post-infarction ventricular septal defect (VSD). The aims of this study were to: (1) analyze the relationship between VSD closure/non-closure and mortality; (2 ...

Coronary occlusion during coronary angiography [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Journal of Cardiology, 1975
Between January 1, 1970, and December 31, 1974, 2981 patients underwent coronary arteriography. Twelve acute coronary dissections or embolizations occurred, an incidence of 0.4%. The incidences of acute occlusions for the Sones and Judkins techniques were 0.19% (4/2077 studies) and 0.88% (8/940), respectively.

s Coronary accordion effect mimicking coronary dissection [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Interventional Cardiology, 2013
The coronary "accordion" effect is a rare pseudo-complication of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It is usually observed due to straightening and shortening of tortuous vessels with stiff guidewires during PCI. In this case report, we present an interesting case of the coronary accordion effect observed in a 52-year-old woman undergoing PCI.
