Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection: Association With Predisposing Arteriopathies and Precipitating Stressors and Cardiovascular Outcomes

open access: yesCirculation. Cardiovascular Interventions, 2014
Background—Nonatherosclerotic spontaneous coronary artery dissection (NA-SCAD) is underdiagnosed and an important cause of myocardial infarction in young women.

Fish Swim Bladder‐Derived ECM Hydrogels Effectively Treat Myocardial Ischemic Injury through Immunomodulation and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique hydrogel based on extracellular matrix from fish swim bladder, which is suitable for transcatheter delivery and possesses remarkable reparative capabilities for treating heart failure, is developed. It emerges as a multi‐effect factor profoundly influencing inflammation regulation, angiogenesis, and myocardial metabolism.

A Cadaveric Study of Coronary Artery Variations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Coronary artery diseases, such as angina or myocardial infarction, are extremely prevalent and impact millions of people worldwide. Underlying the diseases, and how they affect each individual in a distinct manner, is the individual’s coronary artery ...

The effect of atherosclerosis on the vasomotor response of coronary arteries to mental stress.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 1991
BACKGROUND Mental stress can cause angina in patients with coronary artery disease, but its effects on coronary vasomotion and blood flow are poorly understood.

Novel Electroactive Therapeutic Platforms for Cardiac Arrhythmia Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electroactive platforms offer promising applications in cardiac arrhythmia. Based on their energy sources and mechanisms, electroactive platforms are categorized into i) direct electrical stimulation, ii) self‐powered electroactive systems, iii) physical stimuli‐mediated electroactive systems, and iv) conductive systems, and their applications in ...

Estrogen modulates responses of atherosclerotic coronary arteries.

open access: yesCirculation, 1990
Although evidence indicates that estrogen replacement therapy reduces risk of coronary heart disease, the mechanism remains unknown. Among the possibilities are that estrogen replacement therapy may 1) inhibit growth of atherosclerotic plaque and 2 ...

Injectable and Sprayable Thermoresponsive Hydrogel with Fouling‐Resistance as an Effective Barrier to Prevent Postoperative Cardiac Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Postoperative cardiac adhesions lead to numerous difficulties in reoperation procedures. Here, a thermo‐responsive in situ formed hydrogel is shown to can reliably cover the wounds after a convenient spraying or injection and significantly reduce adhesion formation in primary and recurrent cardiac injury adhesion models.

Direct Quantification for Coronary Artery Stenosis Using Multiview Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The quantification of the coronary artery stenosis is of significant clinical importance in coronary artery disease diagnosis and intervention treatment. It aims to quantify the morphological indices of the coronary artery lesions such as minimum lumen diameter, reference vessel diameter, lesion length, and these indices are the reference of the ...
