Posttraumatic coronary artery aneurysm

A 31-year-old man sustained blunt deceleration trauma with dissection of the left anterior descending coronary artery. We repaired a posttraumatic coronary aneurysm to prevent late occlusion of the recanalized vessel. An internal mammary artery graft was applied as a precaution against postoperative thrombosis.

Aneurysm of the left coronary artery

Abstract A case of localized aneurysm of the left coronary artery is presented. This is believed to be the fifty-first case reported in the literature. Ten of these aneurysms, including the one herein reported, were on an arteriosclerotic basis. Death from aneurysm is usually due to congestive failure, coronary thrombosis or rupture.

This paper reports two cases of coronary dissecting aneurysms of the heart. These were found among 45 consecutive autopsy cases with cardiac diseases from January, 1978 to April, 1981. The first case, a 60‐year‐old woman, revealed dissecting aneurysm involving the aorta and three main coronary arteries in association with cystic medial necrosis.
