Fused Segmentation of Geometric Models for Myocardium and Coronary Artery via Medial Axis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Coronary arteries and their branches supply blood to myocardium. The obstruction of coronary arteries results in significant loss of myocardium, called acute myocardial infarction, and the number one cause of death globally. Hence, quantification of the regional amount of heart muscle subtended by obstructed coronary arteries is of critical value in ...

Clinical evaluation of nebulized verapamil in out‐patients with pulmonary hypertension secondary to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 16, Issue 12, Page 802-811, December 2022., 2022
Single dose nebulized verapamil inhalation showed improvement in V/Q mismatch throught increase FVC. Nebulized verapamil inhalation improved gas exchanged and increased spO2. Nebulized verapamil inhalation for out‐patients with pulmonary hypertension secondary to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease improved spirometric parameter.

Hyperhomocysteinemia in bilateral anterior ischemic optic neuropathy after conventional coronary artery bypass graft: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2018
Background The incidence of anterior ischemic optic neuropathy after coronary artery bypass graft procedures ranges from 1.3 to 0.25%. The mechanisms of anterior ischemic optic neuropathy after cardiovascular procedures remain undefined but many systemic

Innovative Integration of 4D Cardiovascular Reconstruction and Hologram: A New Visualization Tool for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Planning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Background: Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) planning requires advanced spatial visualization and consideration of coronary artery depth, calcification, and pericardial adhesions. Objective: To develop and evaluate a dynamic cardiovascular holographic visualization tool for preoperative CABG planning. Methods: Using 4D cardiac computed tomography

Gender disparities in rehospitalisations after coronary artery bypass grafting: evidence from a functional causal mediation analysis of the MIMIC-IV data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Hospital readmissions following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) not only impose a substantial cost burden on healthcare systems but also serve as a potential indicator of the quality of medical care. Previous studies of gender effects on complications after CABG surgery have consistently revealed that women tend to suffer worse outcomes.

Effects of cardiopulmonary bypass on propofol pharmacokinetics and bispectral index during coronary surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
PURPOSE: Cardiopulmonary bypass is known to alter propofol pharmacokinetics in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. However, few studies have evaluated the impact of these alterations on postoperative pharmacodynamics. This study was designed to test the
