Coronary artery fistula is a rare anomaly of the coronary arteries which results from an abnormal connection between a coronary artery with a cardiac chamber or vessel. Coronary steal phenomenon can lead to functional ischemia of the myocardium. The condition has been described extensively, however, the modalities for diagnosing this condition continue

Coronary artery fistulae are abnormal communications between a coronary artery and a cardiac chamber or major vessel (vena cava, pulmonary veins, pulmonary artery). They are usually diagnosed by coronary arteriography. Clinical presentations are variable depending on the type of fistula, shunt volume, site of the shunt, and presence of other cardiac ...

Coronary artery-coronary sinus fistula
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1970Abstract Two cases of coronary artery-coronary sinus fistula are reported. A review of the literature is presented, and the data of the reported cases are analyzed. A continuous murmur has been described in most of the cases, and factors that may modify the character of the murmur are discussed.

Congenital Coronary Artery Fistula
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1971Abstract Two patients treated successfully for congenital coronary artery fistula are added to the reported surgical experience with 93 similar patients. One of our patients is unique in that the fistulous opening was derived from the circumflex coronary artery entering the right ventricle posteriorly at the junction of the interventricular and ...

Coronary arterial fistulas in childhood
Cardiology in the Young, 2000AbstractWe reviewed 16 patients with coronary arterial fistulas seen between 1976 and 1997, and aged 2 days to 16 years, with a median age of 3.2 years. Only four patients were symptomatic: two had heart failure, one had exertional dyspnoea, and one infective endocarditis.

An uncommon coronary artery fistula
Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine, 2005Coronary fistulae are considered rare and potentially dangerous coronary anomalies [1–3], causing different symptoms depending on the severity of both the shunt and the coronary steal. Treatment should be reserved for patients with Qp/Qs N1.5 and/or signs of significant reduction of the coronary reserve [4,5].
