Techniques and Pitfalls of Coronary Arterial Reimplantation in Anatomical Correction of Transposition

Journal of Cardiac Surgery, 2022
Background and Aim : We assessed the anatomical variations in coronary arterial patterns relative to the techniques of reimplantation in the setting of the arterial switch operation, relating the variations to influences on outcomes.

Transection and reimplantation of anomalous right coronary artery from single left coronary artery in a collegiate athlete

Cardiology in the Young, 2023
AbstractCoronary artery anomalies may induce myocardial ischaemia and sudden cardiac death when associated with areas of compression or stenosis. We present a case of transection and reimplantation of an anomalous interarterial right coronary artery arising from a single left main coronary artery. The 18-year-old collegiate athlete had exertional chest

Coronary Artery Reimplantation and Berlin Heart EXCOR Rescue for Left Coronary Artery Atresia With Severe Ischemic Cardiomyopathy

World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, 2021
We describe a successful bridge to recovery by coronary reimplantation and Berlin Heart EXCOR left ventricular assist device in a child with left main coronary artery ostial atresia and severe ischemic cardiomyopathy.

Reimplantation of left coronary artery from pulmonary artery in a 65-year-old

Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2014
Anomalous left coronary artery to the pulmonary artery is a rare pathology with a mortality rate of 90% in the first year of life, directly related to left ventricular function and coronary perfusion, although several adult cases have been reported. Surgical correction consists of ligation of the anomalous left coronary artery associated with coronary ...

Valve-Sparing Reimplantation for Right Coronary Artery Compression After Fontan Procedure

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2022
An incidental finding of right coronary artery compression between the dilated aortic root and the sternum was detected on follow-up cardiac catheterization after Fontan completion for tricuspid atresia with transposition of the great arteries. Although this 31-year-old man had no subjective symptoms, an exercise stress test and perfusion scan revealed

Anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery: Results of isolated aortic reimplantation

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1992
Thirty-one consecutive children with anomalous left coronary artery underwent direct aortic reimplantation of the anomalous artery without an associated procedure. There were five deaths (16%; 70% confidence limits, 9% to 26%), three in the hospital and two early (within 3 months).

Reimplantation of Anomalous Single Coronary Artery From Pulmonary Artery: Diagnosis and Surgical Management

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2012
A newborn presented in cardiogenic shock with the diagnosis of anomalous single coronary artery from pulmonary artery and was successfully revived with prostaglandin (PGE1) infusion. She underwent surgical implantation of her coronary arteries while receiving PGE1 infusion to maintain high oxygen tension for the coronaries during cardiopulmonary bypass.

Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery: repair by aortic reimplantation

European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 1991
From 1980 to 1990, 12 patients (mean age 2.5 years, range 5 months to 9 years) with anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery were treated surgically. Five infants were operated upon in the first year of life because of persistent symptoms of congestive heart failure.

Method for Replacement of the Ascending Aorta and Aortic Valve with Reimplantation of the Coronary Arteries

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1976
A method for replacing the entire ascending aorta and aortic valve is described that employs direct anastomosis of the coronary ostia to the graft, facilitated by appropriately time periods of hypothermic ischemic cardiac arrest. The advantages of this technique are that proper placement of sutures around the coronary ostia is simplified and that ...

Cobrahead reimplantation of anomalous coronary arteries arising from the left coronary sinus

Multimedia Manual of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery
Cobrahead reimplantation is a novel technique that we have implemented to address an anomalous right coronary artery arising from the left coronary sinus, particularly in patients with a short intramural course. This technique requires complete mobilization of the anomalous vessel, detachment of the right coronary artery from its origin at the aorta ...
