Genesis of a coronary‐cameral fistula

Echocardiography, 2021
Coronary artery fistulae are a rare congenital abnormality. If such fistulae drain directly into a cardiac chamber, they are termed coronary-cameral fistulae. Such fistulae are usually congenital in origin or, occasionally, may arise as an iatrogenic complication of a cardiac procedure such as cardiac catheterization or surgery.

Coronary Artery Fistula (CAF) or Coronary Cameral Fistula

2021
Dilatation of the origin of one coronary artery while the other is normal size along with dilation of left cardiac chambers should rise the suspicion of presence of large coronary artery fistula. Following the course of fistula by color Doppler interrogation help to find the receiving chamber which would be dilated as well.

Coronary-cameral fistulas: indications and methods for closure

EuroIntervention, 2016
Coronary-cameral fistulas (CCF) are anomalous connections between one or more coronary arteries and a cardiac chamber, most commonly the right ventricle or right atrium. The major indications for closure are: significant left to right shunt, myocardial ischaemia, prevention of endoarteritis or rupture.

Coronary cameral fistulae following heart transplantation

Clinical Radiology, 1991
Coronary cameral fistulae in 208 orthotopic heart transplants performed at Papworth Hospital were examined. Sixteen fistulae in 208 heart transplants were identified (7.7%). This compares with a reported incidence of 0.2% or less in native hearts. Seven (3.4%) were similar to previously described fistulae to the right ventricle and were secondary to ...

Prenatal Diagnosis of a Right Coronary-Cameral Fistula

A congenital coronary-cameral fistula involves an abnormal fistulous connection between a coronary artery and a cardiac chamber. Most often, a fistula from the right coronary artery (RCA) to the right ventricle (RV) occurs in association with pulmonary atresia, but coronary fistulas without pulmonary stenosis have been reported.
