FDG PET/CT imaging and circulating biomarkers of inflammation in desmoplakin cardiomyopathy
Abstract Aims Inflammation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of desmoplakin (DSP) cardiomyopathy, and retrospective studies have described abnormal myocardial fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) findings in symptomatic patients eventually diagnosed with DSP cardiomyopathy.

CORONARY COLLATERAL CIRCULATION
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1973In the presence of obstructing coronary atherosclerosis, collateral circulation may develop through pre-existing anastomotic channels which are present, though nonfunctional, in normal hearts. These anastomoses connect various branches of the same coronary artery or different coronary arteries.

Isradipine and the coronary circulation
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 1993Isradipine has been shown to be an effective vasodilator in different vascular beds. Experimental evidence suggests that isradipine is a potent coronary vasodilator, and this is supported by clinical studies in both cardiology and cardiac surgery. Furthermore, in these studies, coronary vasodilatation was not accompanied by evidence of any significant ...

An Appreciation of the Coronary Circulation
Anesthesia & Analgesia, 1986Coronary sinus catheter techniques for evaluation of coronary flow and myocardial metabolism have the drawback that a global sampling method is used to evaluate a regional disease (coronary artery disease). Studies on the coronary circulation are further limited by the fact that interventions acting on the coronary bed may simultaneously modify several

Coronary Collateral Circulation
Chest, 1974Collateral coronary channels represent obvious compensatory mechanisms for the delivery of nutrients to the myocardium. In spite of extensive basic research, we are still unaware of the factors determining adequate compensatory adjustments. Extensive human pathologic studies have presented a quantitative overall view, but have said little about the ...

Pharmacology of the Coronary Circulation
Annual Review of Pharmacology, 1972The literature in the past year or two has given ample evidence that the investigation of the coronary vasculature is p rogress ing rapidly from a very rudimentary level to a much more sophisticated one both in theo ry and apĀ plied methods. It is also evident, however, that the goal of understanding the molecular events comprising the nutritional ...
