Computed tomography coronary angiogram images, annotations and associated data of normal and diseased arteries [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography (CTCA) is a non-invasive method to evaluate coronary artery anatomy and disease. CTCA is ideal for geometry reconstruction to create virtual models of coronary arteries. To our knowledge there is no public dataset that includes centrelines and segmentation of the full coronary tree.

Percutaneous coronary intervention versus coronary-artery bypass grafting for severe coronary artery disease.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2009
BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) involving drug-eluting stents is increasingly used to treat complex coronary artery disease, although coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG) has been the treatment of choice historically.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Super-ego in patients with coronary artery disease [Super-ego oboljelih od bolesti koronarnih arterija srca] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we explored the super-ego of patients with coronary artery disease. Research results have confirmed the initial hypothesis that a significant number of patients with coronary artery disease has rigorous super-ego.

A New Approach in Risk Stratification by Coronary CT Angiography. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
For a decade, coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) has been used as a promising noninvasive modality for the assessment of coronary artery disease (CAD) as well as cardiovascular risks.

Coding Variation in ANGPTL4, LPL, and SVEP1 and the Risk of Coronary Disease.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2016
BACKGROUND The discovery of low-frequency coding variants affecting the risk of coronary artery disease has facilitated the identification of therapeutic targets. METHODS Through DNA genotyping, we tested 54,003 coding-sequence variants covering 13,715

Acacetin reduces endoplasmic reticulum stress through the P‐eNOS/PERK signaling pathway to attenuate MGO‐induced vascular endothelial cell dysfunction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated a potential protective effect of acacetin, a naturally occurring flavonoid, against methylglyoxal (MGO)‐induced endothelial dysfunction in human umbilical vein endothelial cells and its mechanism of action. Acacetin can could inhibit MGO‐induced intracellular calcium ion influx, enhance the expression levels of phosphorylated ...

Mean platelet volume and coronary plaque vulnerability: an optical coherence tomography study in patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2019
Background The association between mean platelet volume (MPV) and coronary plaque vulnerability in patients with non-ST-elevation ACS (NSTE-ACS) has not been investigated.

CT imaging of coronary artery disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in developed countries. Particularly with regard to coronary artery disease, approximately 19 million people yearly worldwide either have acute coronary syndrome or die of sudden cardiac ...

Anatomical variants and coronary anomalies detected by dual-source coronary computed tomography angiography in North-eastern Thailand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: Congenital coronary anomalies are uncommon, with an incidence ranging from 0.17% in autopsy cases to 1.2% in angiographically evaluated cases. The recent development of dual-source coronary computed tomography angiography (coronary CTA) allows ...
