Miniaturized Devices for On‐the‐Spot Generation of Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An intracorporeal extrusion device is developed for on‐the‐spot generation of vascular grafts with tunable diameters spanning from 1 to 6 mm. The device uses biomimetic polymers and light, to promptly obtaining biocompatible and high‐burst pressure‐resistant grafts.

Prognostic implication of thermodilution coronary flow reserve in patients with indeterminate pressure-bounded coronary flow reserve

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology, 2018
Recently, the concept of pressure-bounded coronary flow reserve (PB-CFR) has been introduced. However, using pressure-only data, a substantial proportion of patients could not be classified into high or low PB-CFR and remained as indeterminate PB-CFR.

Determinants of Rejection Rate for Coronary CT Angiography Fractional Flow Reserve Analysis.

open access: yesRadiology, 2019
Background Coronary artery fractional flow reserve (FFR) derived from CT angiography (FFTCT) enables functional assessment of coronary stenosis. Prior clinical trials showed 13%-33% of coronary CT angiography studies had insufficient quality for ...

Piezoelectric Biomaterials for Bone Regeneration: Roadmap from Dipole to Osteogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Piezoelectric biomaterials convert mechanical forces into electrical signals, offering novel strategies to restore and modulate bone microenvironments for tissue engineering. This review examines molecular dipole origins, spatial arrangements, and pseudo‐piezoelectric mechanisms and highlights dipole‐engineering techniques for osteogenesis regulation ...

A machine-learning approach for computation of fractional flow reserve from coronary computed tomography.

open access: yesJournal of applied physiology, 2016
Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is a functional index quantifying the severity of coronary artery lesions and is clinically obtained using an invasive, catheter-based measurement.

Beta-Blockers and Coronary Flow Reserve

open access: yes, 2011
The knowledge of the impact of beta-blockers on Coronary Flow Reserve (CFR) is based on experimental and clinical studies which used invasive methods (mainly Doppler Flow Wire, DFW) and non-invasive tools including scintigraphic (mainly Positron Emission Tomography, PET), magnetic resonance and Doppler ultrasound imaging.

Metabolic Stress‐Induced Choline Kinase α (CHKA) Activation in Endothelial Subpopulation Contributes to Diabetes‐Associated Microvascular Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers CHKA as a pivotal driver of vascular dysfunction in diabetic retinopathy and highlights its role in endothelial dysfunction through NAD⁺‐SIRT1‐Notch signaling. Single‐cell and functional analyses, combined with clinical and genetic validation, suggest CHKA as a promising therapeutic target for the prevention and treatment of ...
