New Insights into the Association between Fibrinogen and Coronary Atherosclerotic Plaque Vulnerability: An Intravascular Optical Coherence Tomography Study

open access: yesCardiovascular Therapeutics, 2019
Background. Fibrinogen levels have been associated with coronary plaque vulnerability in experimental studies. However, it has yet to be determined if serum fibrinogen levels are independently associated with coronary plaque vulnerability as detected by ...

Gender differences in coronary heart disease

open access: yesHeart, 2016

Therapeutic Delivery of circDYM by Perillyl Alcohol Nanoemulsion Alleviates LPS‐Induced Depressive‐Like Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PANEs are specifically designed to enhance the brain delivery efficiency of circDYM compared to commercialized lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). Intranasal administration of PANE‐circDYM effectively alleviated LPS‐induced depressive‐like behaviors by mitigating neuroinflammation and promoting neuroplasticity.

Reappraisal of Ischemic Heart Disease: Fundamental Role of Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction in the Pathogenesis of Angina Pectoris

open access: yesCirculation, 2018
In recent years, it has become apparent that coronary microvascular dysfunction plays a pivotal pathogenic role in angina pectoris. Functional and structural mechanisms can affect the physiological function of the coronary microvasculature and lead to ...

Inhibiting the Histone Demethylase Kdm4a Restrains Cardiac Fibrosis After Myocardial Infarction by Promoting Autophagy in Premature Senescent Fibroblasts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Kdm4a downregulation restrains excessive cardiac interstitial fibrosis and remodeling by depressing the premature senescence of fibroblasts in the advanced stage after MI but does not affect early ventricular rupture. It verified that Kdm4a downregulation promotes autophagy in premature senescent fibroblasts by increasing the H3K9m3 modification of the

MMP9High Neutrophils are Critical Mediators of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation and Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.
