Acute cardiac inflammatory responses to postischemic reperfusion during cardiopulmonary bypass [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Objectives: The investigation centers on whether there is a reperfusion-induced specific cardiac inflammatory reaction after bypass surgery. Background: Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) leads to systemic inflammation.

Defining Anatomic Variants of the Coronary Artery in Taiwanese Subjects Using 64-Multidetector-Row Computed Tomography

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2007
The newly developed 64-multidetector-row computed tomography (MDCT) prompted us to evaluate coronary angiography using this noninvasive method. We reviewed 281 images of MDCT coronary angiography in Taiwanese.

Study of Coronary Sinus Flow Reserve Through Transesophageal Doppler Echocardiography in Normal Subjects

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2002
OBJECTIVE - To evaluate the Coronary Flow Reserve in the Coronary Sinus through transesophageal Doppler echocardiography in normal subjects. METHODS - We obtained technically adequate flow samples for analysis in 10 healthy volunteers (37±8 years, 5 men)

Angiographic anatomical variation of origin of left circumflex coronary artery in Basrah [PDF]

open access: yesThe Medical Journal of Basrah University, 2017

Visualization of the Coronary Sinus in Cineangiocardiography [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation, 1955
Reflux opacification of the coronary sinus was observed in 25 of 100 cases examined by cineangiocardiography. Of the 25 coronary sinus "positive" cases, 88 per cent were found to have cardiovascular lesions which are regularly associated with severe hypertension of the right heart chambers.

Left Main Compression by a Giant Aneurysm of the Left Sinus of Valsalva: An Extremely Rare Reason for Myocardial Infarction and Cardiogenic Shock

open access: yesCase Reports in Cardiology, 2015
Aneurysms of the sinus of Valsalva are very rare and mostly located in the right coronary sinus. They might course with dyspnea, fatigue, and acute coronary syndromes.

Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm and bicuspid aortic valve: detection and mechanism by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging

open access: yesClinics and Practice, 2011
Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) demonstrated a sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (SVA) with severe dilatation of the right coronary sinus in association with a congenital bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and subaortic membrane. The SVA had not been apparent

The usefulness of proximal anchor balloon technique during implantation of a cardiac resynchronization therapy device in a patient with complex coronary venous anatomy: a case report

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2022
Background Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an accepted device treatment in stable heart failure (HF) patients. In recent years increased awareness of coronary anatomy and implantation techniques have significantly impacted this evolving ...

Cavernous haemangioma in the coronary sinus [PDF]

open access: yesHeart, 1998
A 58 year old man with a history of cerebral infarction was admitted to hospital with chest discomfort and dyspnoea. He had no history of precordial chest discomfort. Angiography and left ventriculography showed that coronary fistulas connected the coronary sinus with the left circumflex and right coronary arteries.
