Graph Convolutional Networks for Coronary Artery Segmentation in Cardiac CT Angiography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Detection of coronary artery stenosis in coronary CT angiography (CCTA) requires highly personalized surface meshes enclosing the coronary lumen. In this work, we propose to use graph convolutional networks (GCNs) to predict the spatial location of vertices in a tubular surface mesh that segments the coronary artery lumen.

Extracting Tree-structures in CT data by Tracking Multiple Statistically Ranked Hypotheses

open access: yes, 2019
In this work, we adapt a method based on multiple hypothesis tracking (MHT) that has been shown to give state-of-the-art vessel segmentation results in interactive settings, for the purpose of extracting trees.

Annotation-Free Cardiac Vessel Segmentation via Knowledge Transfer from Retinal Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Segmenting coronary arteries is challenging, as classic unsupervised methods fail to produce satisfactory results and modern supervised learning (deep learning) requires manual annotation which is often time-consuming and can some time be infeasible. To solve this problem, we propose a knowledge transfer based shape-consistent generative adversarial ...

Automated quantification and evaluation of motion artifact on coronary CT angiography images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose This study developed and validated a Motion Artifact Quantification algorithm to automatically quantify the severity of motion artifacts on coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) images. The algorithm was then used to develop a Motion IQ

Chlamydia pneumoniae in atherosclerotic middle cerebral artery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Background and Purpose—Atherosclerotic middle cerebral arteries are frequent sites of thrombosis, leading to stroke. Previous studies have suggested a role for Chlamydia pneumoniae in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.

A polymer coated cicaprost-eluting stent increases neointima formation and impairs vessel function in the rabbit iliac artery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Drug-eluting stents have been successful in reducing in-stent restenosis but are not suitable for all lesion types and have been implicated in causing late stent thrombosis due to incomplete regeneration of the endothelial cell layer.
