The coronoid process is one of the main constraints providing ulnohumeral joint stability. The coronoid process and the radial head provide a buttress against posterior displacement of the elbow joint. Fracture of the coronoid process can be either an isolated finding following elbow dislocation or part of a more complex fracture-dislocation.

Arthroscopic Repair of a Coronoid Process Fracture
JBJS Case Connector, 2021Case: A 68-year-old woman sustained an isolated type III left coronoid fracture after mechanical ground-level fall. The patient underwent left elbow arthroscopy with minimally invasive arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation of the coronoid fracture using Arthrex Mini TightRope.

Fractures of the Coronoid Process of the Ulna
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2006The coronoid process is critical to elbow stability and is vulnerable during injury. Traumatic elbow injures are relatively uncommon, so it is important for surgeons to be mindful of the importance of specialized treatment of the coronoid for optimal elbow function.

CLASSIFICATION AND TREATMENT OF CORONOID PROCESS FRACTURES
Orthopedics, 1992ABSTRACT Fractures of the coronoid process are rare as isolated injuries and usually are associated with significant, sometimes devastating trauma to the elbow. The classification system based on the degree of involvement has proven helpful to estimate prognosis and to help guide treatment.

Fixation of the Coronoid Process in Elbow Fracture-Dislocations
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, 2011Terrible triad injuries consist of a posterior dislocation of the elbow, a coronoid fracture, and a radial head fracture. The coronoid plays a pivotal role as an anterior buttress, yet the optimal management of the coronoid fracture remains unknown.

Comment on the anterior approach for coronoid process fracture
European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery & Traumatology, 2012We are very interested in the article by Han et al. [1] entitled ‘‘anterior approach for fixation of isolated type III coronoid process fracture’’. It’s well known that the coronoid process is the anterior portion of the proximal articular surface of the ulna and the important bone structure providing ulnohumeral joint anterior stability. There are two

Fracture of the Anteromedial Facet of the Coronoid Process
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, 2007Fracture of the anteromedial facet of the coronoid was recently recognized as a distinct type of coronoid fracture resulting from a varus posteromedial rotational injury force. Very few reports are available to help guide the management of these injuries.Eighteen patients with a fracture of the anteromedial facet of the coronoid process were treated ...

[Fractures of the coronoid process].
Chirurgie de la main, 2001A retrospective study has been made of a series of 22 cases, and the classification and treatment of fractures of the coronoid process of the ulna have been discussed.A report has been made of 22 cases of coronoid process fracture (18 males and four females). The mean age was 26 years (range: 19-47 years).

Isolated fracture of the coronoid process.
Acta orthopaedica Belgica, 2005Approximately 2% to 15% of the patients with dislocated elbows are thought to present a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna, but such a fracture does not often present in isolation. Its exact incidence is difficult to ascertain given the lack of studies on the subject.
