CERVICAL CORPECTOMY AND STRUT GRAFTING
Neurosurgery, 2007Cervical corpectomy and strut grafting is a deceptively simple procedure that has been performed for many years for a variety of cervical spine disorders (infection, neoplastic disease, and trauma) but most commonly for cervical spondylosis. The procedure requires attention to detail to ensure adequate decompression of the neural structures and ...

Partial Corpectomy for Cervical Spondylosis
Spine, 2003A retrospective review was performed of a single surgeon's experience with partial corpectomy over a 9-year period. The measures evaluated included fusion rate, complications, and neurologic symptoms. To demonstrate the safety and efficacy of partial corpectomy for multilevel cervical spondylosis.Strategies for the surgical management of cervical ...

MULTILEVEL OBLIQUE CORPECTOMIES
Operative Neurosurgery, 2007We describe extensively the multilevel oblique corpectomy technique with its advantages, disadvantages, indications, and biomechanical effects. This procedure is an alternative to the anterior corpectomy.Multilevel oblique corpectomy can be indicated in spondylotic myelopathy, whether or not it is associated with unilateral radiculopathy.

Subaxial Cervical Reconstruction of Multilevel Corpectomies and Skip Corpectomies
2019Anterior cervical corpectomies are used in cases of ventral cord compression that cannot be addressed with a standard anterior cervical discectomy or posterior cervical laminectomy or laminoplasty. Although relatively uncommon, several pathologies render this a useful surgical technique for severe spondylotic myelopathy, infection, and ossification of ...

Anterolateral open thoracotomy still remains the gold standard by which all other approaches are compared. Excellent direct visualization of neural elements and multilevel access are clear advantages, although morbidity and need for access surgeons are the major disadvantages. Nearly all patients demonstrate good neurologic outcomes.
