Enkephalin production by the corpus luteum
Neuropeptides, 1987In search of Early pregnancy factors, on the base of Kentsin, the sole molecule embryo-specific, we detected the presence of Enkephalin in the Mouse ovary, in Bovine and Human corpus luteum. In the Mouse the Met-Enkephalin release by the ovary seems to be stimulated by the oviduct in presence of the embryo.

The autonomy of the rabbit corpus luteum
Journal of Endocrinology, 1994Abstract The rabbit corpus luteum possesses LH receptors that are coupled to adenylyl cyclase, but paradoxically it does not require LH as a luteotrophic factor for the maintenance of progesterone secretion. This suggests that rabbit luteal cells may not respond physiologically to LH.

CORPUS LUTEUM IN NEUROLOGICAL PRACTICE
The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 1919With the last decade our knowledge of the internal secretions has assumed gigantic proportions. Endocrinology has long passed from the realms of academic speculation into the land of practical knowledge. It has been shown that there is hardly a vital function in the living organism that does not depend upon the secretions of one or another gland or ...

GESTOGENS IN CORPUS LUTEUM OF CATTLE
Acta Endocrinologica, 1960ABSTRACT By means of chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods progesterone and a substance closely similar to 20β-hydroxy-pregn-4-ene-3-one has been detected in luteal tissue from non-pregnant and pregnant cows. In 21 animals quantitative measurements based on a method giving an average net recovery of 56 per cent showed that in pregnancy

FUNCTION OF THE CORPUS LUTEUM Speaking broadly, the endocrine function of the corpus luteum is now well understood. The gland is a part of the mechanism of pregnancy. When an ovum begins its journey through the fallopian tube, the follicle from which it took origin gives place to the corpus luteum, and this organ thereupon delivers into the blood ...
