Cancer incidence in people with HIV in Italy: Comparison of the ICONA COHORT with general population data
International Journal of Cancer, EarlyView. What's New?
Immune suppression induced by HIV infection significantly increases the risk of certain cancers among people with HIV (PWH). In the present study, the authors investigated cancer incidence among HIV‐infected individuals in Italy using data from the Italian Cohort Naïve Antiretrovirals. International Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.Abstract
Environmental and lifestyle factors significantly contribute to gynecological cancers. The risk of ovarian cancer, one the most lethal gynecological cancer, is associated with obesity, poor dietary habits, and environmental pollutants, exacerbating hormonal imbalances, inflammation, and oxidative stress.Sara Farina, Alessandra Sabatelli, Stefania Boccia, Giovanni Scambia +3 morewiley +1 more sourceA role of the uterine cervix in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis and endometriosis?
International Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.Abstract
Data indicate a link between the cervix and pathologies like adenomyosis and endometriosis. Uterine flexion on the cervix, diameter and stiffness of the internal cervical orifice represent an obstacle to downstream menstrual flow, that when excessive increases the intensity of uterine contractions.Angelo Cagnacci, Ambrogio Pietro Londero, Umberto Scovazzi, Anjeza Xholli +3 morewiley +1 more sourceMass spectrometry imaging of N‐linked glycans: Fundamentals and recent advances
Mass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.Abstract
With implications in several medical conditions, N‐linked glycosylation is one of the most important posttranslation modifications present in all living organisms. Due to their nontemplate synthesis, glycan structures are extraordinarily complex and require multiple analytical techniques for complete structural elucidation.Tana V. Palomino, David C. Andrology, EarlyView.Abstract Luteinizing hormone (LH), along with its agonist choriongonadotropin (hCG) in humans, is the key hormone responsible for the tropic regulation of the gonadal function. LH and hCG act through their cognate receptor, the luteinizing hormone/choriongonadotropin receptor (LHCGR; more appropriately LHR in rodents lacking CG), located in the testis ...Ilpo T. A cystic mass in the midline that communicates with the third ventricle may be an indirect sign of pACC. PACC is highly associated with intra‐ and extracranial malformations.Changrong Zhou, Hezhou Li, Ruizheng Han, Hongrui Ren, Bin Shen, Xinxia Wang, Fangfang Feng, Mengmeng Wang, Ling Liu +8 morewiley +1 more sourceAcute BVDV infection inhibits expression of interferon-stimulated genes during pregnancy recognition in bovine endometrium [PDF]
