Perturbative reduction of derivative order in EFT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Higher derivative corrections are ubiquitous in effective field theories, which seemingly introduces new degrees of freedom at successive order. This is actually an artefact of the implicit local derivative expansion defining effective field theories. We

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Electroweak and finite width corrections to top quark decays into transverse and longitudinal $ W $-bosons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We calculate the electroweak and finite width corrections to the decay of an unpolarized top quark into a bottom quark and a $ W $-gauge boson where the helicities of the $ W $ are specified as longitudinal, transverse-plus and transverse-minus. Together

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Innovative Nurse-Led Community Health Centre–Corrections Partnership for Hepatitis C Testing and Treatment in Victoria, British Columbia

open access: yesViruses
People who are incarcerated experience a high rate of hepatitis C (HCV) worldwide, and HCV micro-elimination in prisons is an effective strategy to support treatment.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

The evaluation of the New Zealand's geoid model using the KTH method / Naujosios Zelandijos geoido modelio vertinimas KTH metodu / Оценка модели геоида Новой Зеландии с применением метода КТН

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2011
We compile a new geoid model at the computation area of New Zealand and its continental shelf using the method developed at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm.

Quantum corrections to the thermodynamic potential of interacting Bosons in a trap

open access: yes, 1998
We calculate the quantum corrections of the thermodynamic quantities of a system of confined Bosons at finite temperature. Systematically quantum corrections are written in a series of $\hbar$, which is convergent when $kT$ is much larger than the ...
