Averaging correlated data [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica Scripta, 1995
The problem of averaging strongly correlated data is addressed for the case that the exact correlation pattern is unknown. A procedure is proposed to estimate the effective size of the correlations from the data themselves and to take them properly into account when forming the average.

Diagnosing Horizontal and Inter-Channel Observation Error Correlations for SEVIRI Observations Using Observation-Minus-Background and Observation-Minus-Analysis Statistics

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2016
It has been common practice in data assimilation to treat observation errors as uncorrelated; however, meteorological centres are beginning to use correlated inter-channel observation errors in their operational assimilation systems. In this work, we are

MCMSeq: Bayesian hierarchical modeling of clustered and repeated measures RNA sequencing experiments

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2020
Background As the barriers to incorporating RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) into biomedical studies continue to decrease, the complexity and size of RNA-Seq experiments are rapidly growing.

Correlated Data Inference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we examine undesired inferences in distributed XML documents. An undesired inference is a chain of reasoning that leads to protected data of an organization or an individual, using only intentionally disclosed information. We propose a framework, called Ontology guided XML Security Engine (Oxsegin), to detect and prevent undesired ...

Imaging of High‐Risk Neuroblastoma: Recommendations From SIOPEN Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Specialty Committees

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid tumor in early childhood. Its clinical behavior is highly variable, ranging from spontaneous regression to fatal outcome despite intensive treatment. The International Society of Pediatric Oncology Europe Neuroblastoma Group (SIOPEN) Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Specialty Committees ...

Clinical Course and Impact of Breaks in Therapy for Children With Relapsed/Refractory Solid Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pediatric relapsed or refractory (R/R) solid tumors carry a dismal prognosis, and postrelapse patient experiences are not well described. We present postrelapse outcomes, including number of R/R events and subsequent therapy regimens.

Testing Informativeness of Covariate-Induced Group Sizes in Clustered Data

open access: yesMathematics
Clustered data are a special type of correlated data where units within a cluster are correlated while units between different clusters are independent. The number of units in a cluster can be associated with that cluster’s outcome.

Regression Analysis for Correlated Data [PDF]

open access: yesAnnual Review of Public Health, 1993
Regression analysis is among the most commonly used methods of statistical analysis in public health research. Its objective is to describe the relationship of a response with explanatory variables. One example of a regression problem is to identify factors associated with the racial difference in the risk of low birthweight (29).

Criterion‐Related Validity of the Neuropsychological Quick Assessment for Screening Cognitive, Motor, and Behavioral Impairments in Patients With Pediatric Brain Tumors: An Observational Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuropsychological complications may impair the qualitative prognosis of patients with pediatric brain tumors. However, multifaceted evaluations cannot be conducted in all patients because they are time consuming and burdensome for patients.
