Predictive coding of correlated sources
Manufacturing Engineer, 2005A lossy coding scheme is proposed for separate encoding and joint decoding of two correlated sequences. The algorithm simultaneously exploits the correlation between the sequences (using a binning-based quantization scheme) and that between the samples of each sequence (using linear prediction).

Reference Encoding of Correlated Digital Sources
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978A reference code, with an associated bound on the code rate, for the encoding of correlated digital sources is introduced. The reference code is adaptive and simple to implement. Image coding results obtained using concatenated trellis and reference encoding are presented.

Source separation in systems with correlated sources using NMF
Digital Signal Processing, 2010Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) has been used for source separation in various fields. However, the existing methods have ignored the presence of interactions among sources/measurements which leads to incorrect results. Interactions are common in a multivariate process where the variables are physically related/correlated with one another (for ...

Sparse blind source separation for partially correlated sources
2014 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2014Blind source separation (BSS) is a very popular technique to analyze data which can be modeled as linear mixtures of elementary sources. Standard approaches generally make the assumption that such sources are statistically independent or at least uncorrelated.

Index coding over correlated sources
2015 International Symposium on Network Coding (NetCod), 2015One of the promising architectures for the next generation of content distribution networks is the “cache network”, where each node has cache or local storage. We consider the index coding problem, where a central content server disseminates compressed multiple content data to each client that recovers the target content using the cached content, as ...

Correlated-Source Extractors and Cryptography with Correlated-Random Tapes
2019In this paper, we consider the setting where a party uses correlated random tapes across multiple executions of a cryptographic algorithm. We ask if the security properties could still be preserved in such a setting. As examples, we introduce the notion of correlated-tape zero knowledge, and, correlated-tape multi-party computation, where, the zero ...

CMA beamforming for multipath correlated sources
1997 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1997Blind adaptive beamforming is often used in communication systems to combat co-channel interference. Among a number of techniques, the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) has proven to be an effective tool for blind beamforming of uncorrelated signals. Unfortunately, CMA beamformers encounter problems for correlated signals and interferences.

Source-correlation effects in the time domain
Physical Review A, 1993Source-correlation effects are analyzed in the time domain. The autocorrelation function is modified significantly in the presence of source correlations. The modifications of the autocorrelation function are found to be consistent with the Wiener-Khintchine theorem. These predictions are confirmed by experimental studies on laser-light scattering from

Broadcast channels with arbitrarily correlated sources
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1987The authors gives sufficient conditions for an arbitrarily correlated finite alphabet source (S,T) to be admissible for a broadcast channel. He establishes a new coding scheme that includes all the previously coding techniques, and particularly Marton's theorem.

An exploration of voice source correlates of focus
Interspeech 2010, 2010This pilot study explores how the voice source parameters vary in focally accented syllables. It examines the dynamics of the voice source parameters in an all-voiced short declarative utterance in which the focus placement was varied. The voice source parameters F0, EE, UP, OQ, RG, RA, RK and RD were obtained through inverse filtering and subsequent ...
