Elusive Counter-Cyclicality and Deliberate Opportunism? Fiscal Policy from Plans to Final Outcomes [PDF]

open access: yes
Drawing on the European Commission’s Autumn forecasts, I estimate fiscal reaction functions with four different information sets, ranging from budget plans to final outcomes. I also analyse deviations from plans during budget implementation.

UAV Real-Time Target Detection and Tracking Algorithm Based on Improved KCF and YOLOv5s_MSES

open access: yesMachines
In past decade, even though correlation filter (CF) has achieved rapid developments in the field of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) tracking, the discrimination ability between target and background still needs further investigation due to boundary effects.

Quality Thresholds for Angiogenesis Under Acoustic Manipulation in Engineered Vascular Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Defined biological and physical quality thresholds achieved through acoustic manipulation regulate cellular alignment and spatial organization, promoting self‐assembling vasculature, extracellular matrix deposition, and angiogenic responses, thereby establishing critical acoustic patterning requirements for engineered vascular tissue development in ...

A Review of Failure Modes and Safety Strategies of Lithium‐Ion Batteries from Materials to Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cascade‐aware framework is presented for lithium‐ion battery safety, linking thermal runaway initiation, acceleration, runaway reaction, and propagation with material‐, cell/pack‐, and system‐level interventions. By integrating failure mechanisms, quantitative safety indicators, and staged interception strategies, this review highlights how safer ...

CD177 Deficiency Defines a Stable Subtype of Human Neutrophil Granulocytes with Tumor Promoting Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human neutrophils exist as two epigenetically imprinted subtypes defined by stable CD177 expression or absence — a ratio that persists across time, circadian rhythms, and inflammation. CD177− neutrophils display a distinct molecular landscape enriched in arginase 1 and lipid metabolism markers, accumulate in head‐and‐neck tumors, and associate with ...

Research on the perception method of tiny objects in low-light and wide-field video

open access: yesScientific Reports
At present, many trackers exhibit commendable performance in well-illuminated scenarios but overlook target tracking in low-light environments. As night falls, the tracker's accuracy drops dramatically. Challenges such as high image resolution, intricate

PRMT5‐Dependent Stabilization of VPS34 Orchestrates Copper Trafficking to Shield Cancer Cells from Cuproptosis and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Radioresistance arises partly from tumor cells evading cuproptosis via unknown defenses. This study reveals that the PRMT5‐VPS34 axis acts as a radiation‐activated anticuproptotic mechanism: PRMT5 methylates VPS34 at Arg174, recruiting USP10 to remove K48‐linked ubiquitination and prevent degradation.

Discovering Early‐Stage Gas Generation Kinetics Enables Thermal Runaway Early Warning in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Operando gas diagnostics reveal a previously unrecognized chemical activation (CA) stage during thermal runaway in lithium‐ion batteries. A physics‐informed gas generation kinetics network (GGKNet) is developed to reconstruct reaction pathways and physical models automatically.
