High-dimensional datasets often harbor redundant, irrelevant, and noisy features that detrimentally impact classification algorithm performance. Feature selection (FS) aims to mitigate this issue by identifying and retaining only the most pertinent ...

ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Random surface correlation functions [PDF]
Truncated pair functions for free random surface models and Bernoulli ensembles are examined. In both cases, the pair function is shown to obey Ornstein-Zernike scaling whenever various correlation lengths of the system satisfy a nonperturbative criterion.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Measures on two-component configuration spaces
We study the measures on the configuration spaces of particles of two types. Gibbs measures on such spaces are described. Main properties of corresponding relative energy densities and correlation functions are considered.

Temporal correlation functions of dynamic systems in non-stationary states
Besides the fluctuation–dissipation theorem around the stationary state, how the fluctuations in non-stationary states correlate with the future motion of the dynamic variables remains a challenging problem.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Density of states of one-dimensional Pauli ionic conductor
Microscopic one-dimensional noninteracting model for the description of the energy spectrum of the ion subsystem in ionic conductor is considered. The processes of ionic hoppings are described in terms of Pauli operators.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
