The role of water for heat dissipation by a Jersey cow and a Corriedale ewe.

Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, 1954
Experimental climatological work was carried out on a Jersey cow and a Corriedale ewe. These animals were exposed to a series of controlled environmental conditions in a psychrometric room for periods of 7 hr and their reactions observed. Both animals showed an increase in body temperature, respiratory rate and volume, and respiratory and ...

Will Corriedale ewes accept odor-transferred lambs?

Applied Animal Behaviour Science, 1992
Abstract Fostering technique by transfer of the own-lamb odor to an alien lamb with a cotton stockinette was evaluated in 21 Corriedale ewes. Stockinettes were used on the own lamb during 1–2 days post-partum, and were transferred to an alien lamb immediately before being submitted to a 48-h fostering period.

Genetic parameters of objectionable fibers and of their associations with fleece traits in Corriedale sheep.

Journal of Animal Science, 2016
The aim of this research was to assess the variability and genetic relationships among binary traits denoting the presence or absence of objectionable fibers, namely pigmented (BINPPF), medullated (BINPMED), and kemp fibers (BINPK), and of fleece traits (

Effect of seminal plasma on post-thaw quality and functionality of corriedale ram sperm obtained by electroejaculation and artificial vagina.

Reproduction in domestic animals = Zuchthygiene, 2015
We have already shown that seminal collection method affects seminal plasma composition and sperm quality in Corriedale rams. In this study, we evaluated the effect of seminal plasma collected by electroejaculation or artificial vagina on sperm ...

Seasonal variations in testicular morphology in Uruguayan Corriedale rams

Animal Reproduction Science, 1995
Abstract The fine structure of the testes from young Corriedale rams raised under extensive grazing conditions in Uruguay was studied in the four seasons of a year and related to clinical, morphometric, seminal and endocrine parameters. Scrotal circumference varied significantly throughout the year, with lowest values in winter.

Priming anoestrous Corriedale ewes with progesterone and gonadotrophin-releasing hormone causes cervical tissue remodelling due to metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) activity

, 2018
The aim was to obtain experimental evidence of cervical collagen degradation in anoestrous Corriedale adult ewes induced to ovulate with progesterone (P) and gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH), at the expected time of induced ovulation and early ...
