Assessment of rice bran with acrylate or pyruvate in modulating ruminal fermentation and methane production in vitro. [PDF]
Abstract BACKGROUND Livestock production contributes largely to climate change and methane (CH4) from enteric fermentation is the primary greenhouse gas emitted from ruminants. Thus, developing effective strategies to reduce the impact of ruminant production on the environment is crucial, and the combination of CH4 mitigating agents may be a viable ...

There is large variation in genetic parameters in literature for growth traits in sheep, so aggregation of different studies results by meta‐analysis can improve reliability of estimated parameters. A meta‐analysis with 221 articles was carried out. Decrease in Standard errors could indicate that aggregation of results of different studies improved ...

Study aimed to examine the influence of gender on carcass traits and meat quality of Romanov breed lambs. Lamb gender had a significant influence on several carcass traits, 10‐heptadecenoic, linoleic, and total polyunsaturated fatty acids profile. Male meat had a significantly higher lightness, lower redness, and higher values of pH and cooking loss. A

Abstract Nitrogen (N) cycling in rangeland soils could potentially be controlled by water supply, stocking rates, or a range of other variables, such as ecosystem N stocks. To gauge the relative importance and elucidate possible interactions among these factors, we measured many abiotic variables to identify first‐order controls of δ15N for Patagonia's

Traumatic myiasis is highly prevalent in flocks from southeastern Spain; Wohlfahrtia magnifica was identified in all of the positive animals except one that was infested by Lucilia sericata. Adults and males showed higher infestation risk than juveniles and females, respectively; the existence of lambing buildings, poor husbandry facilities and the ...

Integrating farmyard manure (FYM) and legume intercropping improves soil chemical and microbial properties, thereby increasing forage productivity and nutritional value. The purpose of this study was to evaluate how fertilizer treatments affected the chemical composition, in vitro gas production and organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), and volatile ...

A free Plain Language Summary can be found within the Supporting Information of this article. Abstract We do not yet have the means to directly measure the energy expenditure of wild animals, particularly at a high temporal resolution. However, we can instead measure factors that correlate with energy expenditure, such as heart rate or accelerometry ...

This study aimed to compare the organoleptic and nutritional quality of four sheep meats produced in Morocco. This comparison was carried out by analyzing the proximate composition, amino acid profile, and mineral content of meat. The majority of the evaluated parameters were influenced by genetic and geographical factors (p < 0.05).
