Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

Synergistic Organic–Inorganic Interface Engineering for Stable Zinc Metal Anodes in Aqueous Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional mercaptosuccinic acid enables an ultrathin organic–inorganic SEI (Zn‐S‐RCOOH) that synergistically regulates interfacial water and accelerates Zn2+ transport. The optimized hydrogen‐bond environment and ZnS‐guided deposition suppress dendrites, corrosion, and by‐product formation, delivering ultrastable Zn cycling and high‐performance

Enhanced Corrosion Resistance of Carbon Steel Rebar in Chloride-Containing Water Solutions: The Role of Lotus Extract in Corrosion Inhibition

open access: yes
Corrosion inhibitors play a crucial role in the corrosion protection of rebars in reinforced concrete structures under harsh service conditions. However, conventional corrosion inhibitors often suffer from low efficiency and environmental concerns.

One‐Step, High‐Removal‐Rate and Low‐Damage Chemical Mechanical Polishing of InP Enabled by Hydrolysis Activated PF6− with In Situ Fluoride Passivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, we propose a CMP method for InP using NH4PF₆, which hydrolyzes under In3+ catalysis to form reactive species. These convert InP into low‐binding‐energy fluorides, facilitating removal and dissolution. The process delivers high material removal rates, smooth surfaces, and fluorine passivation that lowers defect density and improves ...

Chiral‐Encoded Pt‐Ir Surfaces as Apparent Spin Filter for Enhanced Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Chiral‐Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) effect is employed in chiral‐encoded mesoporous Platinum‐Iridium (Pt‐Ir) electrocatalysts to enhance the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). A break in spin symmetry leads to a substantial antagonistic difference in activity (>200%) when comparing two enantiomorphs of the same electrode.

Temporary Inhibition of the Corrosion of AZ31B Magnesium Alloy by Formation of Bacillus subtilis Biofilm in Artificial Seawater

open access: yes, 2019
It is well known that microorganisms tend to form biofilms on metal surfaces to accelerate/decelerate corrosion and affect their service life. Bacillus subtilis was used to produce a dense biofilm on an AZ31B magnesium alloy surface.
