Effects of Carbon Nanoparticles on Triboelectro‐Induced Surface Defects
Carbon nanoparticles added to grease modify the electrocontact behavior. The synergy of particle concentration and electric current dominates the surface damage of metals in contact. Electrical surface damage caused by current leakage is a critical challenge in high‐performance applications such as electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains and wind turbine ...

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Enhanced high-temperature oxidation resistance of Mg-Gd-Zn-Zr alloy by YSZ TBC with PEO bond layer
Magnesium alloys suffer from significant limitations in high-temperature applications due to poor oxidation resistance, primarily attributed to the non-protective nature of their native MgO scale (Pilling–Bedworth ratio, PBR = 0.81).

Predicting the Corrosion Rate of Steel in Cathodically Protected Concrete Using Potential Shift [PDF]
The commonly accepted Cathodic Protection (CP) criterion i.e. 100mV decay evolves from experimental investigations and may not always be accurate. Alternatively, corrosion rate monitoring can assess the adequacy of CP.

High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Boron Nitride Nanosheets for Metal Protection
Although the high impermeability of graphene makes it an excellent barrier to inhibit metal oxidation and corrosion, graphene can form a galvanic cell with the underlying metal that promotes corrosion of the metal in the long term.
