Rate-determining reactions of atmospheric corrosion
Electrochimica Acta, 2004Abstract The scanning Kelvin probe (SKP) and FT-IR microscope have been applied for investigations of atmospheric corrosion of carbon steel, zinc and aluminum. From surface distributions of Volta (corrosion) potential and of corrosion products in presence of local NaCl contamination the areas of cathodic and anodic reactions have been identified. The

Corrosion Rate Measurement Using Electrochemical Technique
CORROSION 2016, 2016Abstract This paper will present a detailed study on corrosion current and corrosion behavior using electrochemical technique. The corrosion rates of different alloys and metals in a test liquid of blow down water collected from an oil field boiler were measured.

Corrosion Rate Monitoring in Pipeline Casings
Materials Performance, 2013This article is a case study on the use of corrosion rate monitoring probes to determine the rate of material loss inside the pipeline casing where a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor substance is used. The data can be transmitted using remote monitoring technology and accessed by the technician from any Web-enabled device.

Applying Instantaneous Corrosion Rate Measurements To Waterflood Corrosion Control
Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1965Abstract The recent availability of the instantaneous corrosion-rate measuring instrument developed by Pure Oil Co. has enabled a new approach to corrosion control. In the past either corrosion had to occur and be measured or the causes of corrosion known and measured to allow successful corrosion control.

Monitoring corrosion rates and localised corrosion in low conductivity water
Corrosion Science, 2006Monitoring of low corrosion rates and localised corrosion in a media with low conductivity is a challenge. In municipal district heating, quality control may be improved by implementing on-line corrosion monitoring if a suitable technique can be identified to measure both uniform and localised corrosion.

Corrosion rate monitoring with computerized systems
Materials and Corrosion, 1995AbstractSome observations concerning the aims of corrosion rate monitoring, the choice of the electrochemical parameter, the opportunity of optimising the measurement technique and the usefulness of developing specific software for computerised systems are made.
