A new musculoskeletal reconstruction and revision of the cranio‐mandibular anatomy of the Devonian arthrodire placoderm Dunkleosteus terrelli from a comparative and functional anatomical perspective. Dunkleosteus is a specialized arthrodire with many specializations for feeding on large vertebrates, and many of its features are part of broader ...

Comparison of aerodynamic noise from three nose-cylinder combinations [PDF]
Results of experiments with three different cylinder and blunted nose combinations are discussed. Combinations include smooth cylinder with single 15 deg cone, smooth cylinder with double cone of 25 and 10 deg, and longitudinally corrugated cylinder with

Descriptive, comparative, and functional anatomy of the facial musculature in cattle (Bos taurus)
Abstract Facial expressions can provide insight into animal emotions and pain, but no standardized system for assessing the entire facial display in cattle (Bos taurus Linnaeus) exists. The Facial Action Coding System (FACS), originally developed for humans, identifies distinct facial movements based on mimetic muscles.

Strength and Stiffness of Corrugated Plates Subjected to Bending
When a beam twists, localized flexural deformation in the plate occurs at the connection between the corrugated plate and the beam, resulting in a reduction in the bracing stiffness of the corrugated plate. To accurately assess the bracing stiffness of a

Scaling of Planar Sodium‐Nickel Chloride Battery Cells to 90 cm2 Active Area
Large planar Na β′′ alumina electrolytes are prepared by tape‐casting and die‐pressing. These ceramic electrolytes are used to prepare planar sodium‐nickel chloride cells with 90 cm2 active area, providing a high capacity of 7 Ah. Successful cell cycling is demonstrated at 300 °C at rates up to C/4 (20 mA cm−2) for a cumulative capacity of 3.6 Ah cm−2.

ABSTRACT Biochar has emerged as a useful and adaptable source of carbon for supercapacitor electrodes. Its value comes from the way biomass chemistry, thermal conversion, and activation conditions shape the resulting pore network, surface groups, and degree of carbon ordering.

Horn antenna with v-shaped corrugated surface [PDF]
Corrugated shape is easily machined for millimeter wave application and is better suited for folding antenna designs. Measured performance showed ""V'' corrugations and rectangular corrugations have nearly the same pattern beamwidth, gain, and impedance.
