AbstractPrint non‐uniformity is a major concern for flexo post‐printers. Many of these non‐uniformities are suspected to be caused by the corrugated board structure itself. Striping is the most obvious one, but also other print quality problems might be structure‐related.

Evaluation of equivalent stiffness properties of corrugated board
Composite Structures, 2005Abstract A numerical approach to evaluate the stiffness parameters for corrugated board is presented in this paper. The method is based on a detailed micromechanical representation of a region of corrugated board modelled by means of finite elements.

Washboarding and print quality of corrugated board
Packaging Technology and Science, 1998This paper is a concluding survey of the research presented in three previous reports by the author. It deals with the problem of washboarding, which is the wavy pattern coinciding with the flute tips on the surface of corrugated board. The causes of washboarding on the surface of corrugated board have been determined and the effect of washboarding on ...

Corrugated board containers design methods
International Journal of Computational Materials Science and Surface Engineering, 2010In this paper, a brief review of design methods for corrugated board containers subjected to compressive loads is presented. The main request for a corrugated board package is the capability to resist stacking loads. The principal tool used in industrial application is actually a simplified formula derived from theoretical considerations. In this work,

Compressive Behaviour of Corrugated Board Panels
Journal of Composite Materials, 2001The compressive responses and failure mechanisms of corrugated sandwich panels subjected to uniform lateral compression are examined by a combined theoretical and experimental study. Particular focus is placed on illuminating the role of the initially sinusoidal fluting in dominating the overall deformation and local collapse of the board panel.

Modern transformer main insulation with corrugated board
Proceedings of 2001 International Symposium on Electrical Insulating Materials (ISEIM 2001). 2001 Asian Conference on Electrical Insulating Diagnosis (ACEID 2001). 33rd Symposium on Electrical and Electronic Insulating Materials and Applications in System, 2002The essential characteristics of a modern transformer are high efficiency and reliability in operation. Various factors determine the reliability during service. It depends basically on proper design, workmanship, materials and components to be used in the transformer insulation.

Corrugated board bonding defect visualization and characterization
International Journal of Adhesion and Adhesives, 2015Abstract Adhesive bonding of fluted medium to linerboard is a fundamental process in manufacturing of wood-fiber based corrugated combined board for packaging. The quality of bonds requires frequent testing since production speed and container box stacking capacity are affected. Several different testing techniques are investigated in this paper that

The Elastic Constants of Corrugated Board Panels
Journal of Composite Materials, 2001Because corrugated board panels inevitably contain various processing- induced geometrical imperfections, to develop simple and yet reliable methods for measuring the elastic properties of orthotropic corrugated board panels is not only vitally important for the packaging industry, but also key for any analytical/numerical modeling of the deformation ...

Laser cutting of corrugated boards
2007Corrugated board converting industry usually uses high-capacity machines but nowadays customers may want even smaller and smaller series. Small series is not anymore economical with punching knifes, because tool cost is quite high compared to cost of one piece. Conventionally cutting of corrugated board is done by mechanical cutting.

COMPARATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF CORRUGATED BOARD PRODUCTION
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal, 2010Environmental issues are a key objective for European paper industry. Among the initiatives addressed to minimise the environmental impacts, this industry has an important focus on the product itself. Paper industry is continuously improving environmental profile of their products by using high percentages of recycled fibres as substitute of virgin ...
