Additives for enhancing the drying properties of adhesives for corrugated boards

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2013
Adhesives play a fundamental role in many modern technologies, and adhesive failure can have catastrophic consequences. It is, therefore, valuable to understand the factors important for the production of a good durable adhesive bond.

Functional anatomy, jaw mechanisms, and feeding behavior of Dunkleosteus terrelli (Placodermi, Arthrodira)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
A new musculoskeletal reconstruction and revision of the cranio‐mandibular anatomy of the Devonian arthrodire placoderm Dunkleosteus terrelli from a comparative and functional anatomical perspective. Dunkleosteus is a specialized arthrodire with many specializations for feeding on large vertebrates, and many of its features are part of broader ...

Scaling of Planar Sodium‐Nickel Chloride Battery Cells to 90 cm2 Active Area

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Large planar Na β′′ alumina electrolytes are prepared by tape‐casting and die‐pressing. These ceramic electrolytes are used to prepare planar sodium‐nickel chloride cells with 90 cm2 active area, providing a high capacity of 7 Ah. Successful cell cycling is demonstrated at 300 °C at rates up to C/4 (20 mA cm−2) for a cumulative capacity of 3.6 Ah cm−2.

Biophysical processes of morphogenesis in lizard lungs

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The lungs of squamate reptiles (lizards and snakes) are highly diverse, exhibiting single chambers, multiple chambers, transitional forms with two to three chambers, along with a suite of other anatomical features, including finger‐like epithelial projections into the body cavity known as diverticulae.

An Open-Source Simulation for Compression Analysis of Corrugated Boards [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry
In the packaging industry, corrugated boards are widely used due to many factors like bio-biodegradability, high strength-to-weight ratio, and also ease of manufacturing. In this study, the finite element analysis of corrugated cardboards under the flat compression test was performed using the open-source FEA Software Salome-meca.

The Dimensional Revolution of Phosphorus: From Allotropicity to Battery System Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Phosphorus‐based materials are promising high‐capacity anodes classified by dimension (0D–3D) to systematically explore their properties and composite strategies. When combined with materials such as carbon to form heterostructures, the electrical conductivity and stability are effectively enhanced.

Mechanistic Origins of Structural Failure in Deeply‐Lithiated LixMoS2

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Global optimization and ab initio molecular dynamics reveal how Li drives the 2H to 1T′ phase transformation in MoS2 and where the layered framework begins to fracture. Controlled pre‐lithiation stabilizes 1T′ and significantly delays the onset of structural failure, while opening out‐of‐plane Li pathways, offering design rules for robust, high‐rate ...
