Development of a pyrolysis model for corrugated cardboard

Abstract The current study outlines a general approach to construct a one-dimensional pyrolysis model based on milligram-scale and bench-scale test data collected systematically to isolate a specific process in each test. This approach is demonstrated by developing a model of burning for corrugated cardboard.

Upgrading old corrugated cardboard (OCC) to dissolving pulp

Delignification and pentosan dissolution of old corrugated cardboard (OCC) pulp was carried out using formic acid (FA) followed by alkaline extraction at atmospheric pressure. The kappa number of the initial OCC pulp was 41.4, which was decreased to 18.0 after 3.5 h of formic acid treatment.
