Multifaceted Behavior and Functional Versatility of Ferritic Stainless Steels, Part I: Applications and Processing, a Review

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 3, Page 1201-1225, March 2026.
This review investigates the processing‐microstructure‐property relationships in ferritic stainless steels (FSSs). It highlights advances in deformation behavior, heat treatments, surface modifications, and alloying effects. Theoretical models, including Johnson‐Mehl‐Avrami‐Kolmogorov, Arrhenius, nucleation theory, and diffusion theories, are discussed

Willow rotation rapidly improves key drainage properties of compacted organic soils

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, Volume 25, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Mechanical methods implemented to solve drainage issues caused by compacted layers in cultivated organic soils have produced only short‐term improvements. Limited research has been conducted on biological methods, particularly the use of plants as biological subsoilers.

SUBSTITUTING FOR THE STATE: The Sovereignty Impacts of Diverse Citizens’ Off‐grid Infrastructure Strategies in South Africa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Volume 50, Issue 2, Page 430-448, March 2026.
Abstract In South Africa, citizens in both low‐ and high‐income areas are increasingly providing their own services to mitigate the unreliability, unaffordability and inaccessibility of state services. This article examines diverse case studies across socio‐economic and residential typologies to explore shifts in service provision responsibilities from

Design, Training, and Field Validation of a YOLOv8‐Based Automated Trap for Remote Detection of Codling Moth, Cydia pomonella

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 3, Page 212-224, March 2026.
We developed and field‐validated a fully automated trap for Cydia pomonella monitoring, combining a camera with a YOLOv8 object‐detection model for remote insect identification. In controlled laboratory validation, the model showed strong performance (precision 0.77, recall 0.83), with moderate reductions under field conditions. Across six experiments,

An Apple a Day Does Not Keep the Weevils Away: Enhancing Vine Weevil Monitoring With Fruit‐Based Volatiles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 2, Page 168-178, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus Fabricius; Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is an economically important pest of soft fruit and ornamental crops worldwide. Despite extensive research over three decades, the development of an effective semiochemical lure to improve monitoring for this pest remains a challenge.

Objective Assessment of the Onset of RelabotulinumtoxinA in the Elevation of the Eyebrow and Its Clinical Implications

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The new ready‐to‐use botulinum toxins effectively treat lateral canthal lines; there is still little data on their efficacy in treating glabellar lines. The combined treatment of lateral canthal and glabellar lines allows the eyebrow to be repositioned. Aims To show the onset and action of RelabotulinumtoxinA on the periocular area,
