Dimensionality‐Driven Emerging Phenomena in Hybrid Metal Halides

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Emergent Phenomena Governed by Octahedral Connectivity and Dimensionality. Hybrid metal halides are unique among semiconductors in that their inorganic octahedral networks can be rationally assembled in 3D, 2D, 1D, and 0D forms, enabling dimensionality to assist as a powerful control knob over structure, electronic properties, excitations, and ...

Urban Waters, Unseen: The Hydrology of Informal Settlements Must Not Be Ignored

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Informal settlements—home to more than 1 billion people worldwide—remain largely invisible in urban hydrological science. Despite their density, structural complexity, and distinctive water pathways, these neighborhoods are routinely omitted from flood models, drainage assessments, and water‐resource analyses due to data gaps and limitations ...

Conspecific density and reproductive trade‐offs govern population response to climate in a clonal wildflower

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 6, June 2026.
Our results demonstrate that interactive effects of clonal reproduction and intraspecific density are important contributors to plant demography and that high local density increases the negative impact of drought on population growth rates. Abstract Making predictions about the persistence of plant populations under climate change requires explicitly ...

Abnormal Enteric Nervous System Organization and Gastrointestinal Motility in Mice With Valproic Acid‐Induced Neural Tube Defects

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 38, Issue 6, June 2026.
Gastrointestinal tracts from fetuses with a valproic acid‐induced neural tube defect contain blood. Structurally, the enteric neuronal stripes are thinner with a narrower interstripe distance, leading to an increased number of stripes. Functionally, gastrointestinal motility is abnormal, with increased contraction frequency and increased length of ...

Numerical Study of I-Joists with Wood-Based Corrugated Panel Web

open access: yesBioResources
Oriented strand board (OSB) panels are widely used as the best web solution for wooden I-joists. Many previous studies have focused on testing various new web materials, but few have examined the contribution of other web shapes to the I-joists' behavior.

Buckling of corrugated core sandwich panels

open access: yes, 1969
A computer program is developed to determine the buckling stress and deflections of symmetric corrugated core sandwich panels. In the program freedom for lateral deflections at core to face-plate junction is allowed for. Provision is also made to study the effect of variation of core bend radius.

Predicting Nonlinear Behavior of Cellular Cross-Laminated Timber Under Bending and Rolling Shear

open access: yesFibers
This study investigates the structural performance of cellular cross-laminated timber (CCLT) through a nonlinear finite element model using Hill and Hashin damage criteria in Abaqus.

Mechanical Behaviour of Corrugated Laminates

open access: yesJournal of Materials and Engineering Structures, 2019
The present research work intends to perform a wide set of structural analyses upon corrugated composite laminated panels and based on these analyses, to assess their mechanical response in correspondence to the constructive solutions, which may range ...
