Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

High‐throughput quantum‐mechanical simulations reveal that amorphous carbon undergoes shear‐driven structural transformation into aromatic, graphene‐like interfaces. This mechanochemical process is governed by dopant chemistry: dopants with valency less than four promote the emergence of superlow‐friction amorphous graphene, whereas tetra‐valent ...

Triangular corrugated sandwich panels under longitudinal bending
A corrugated sandwich panel consists of two face-sheets and a corrugated core, which is made of sheets that are folded into a corrugated shape. In this paper, the mechanical response of aluminium corrugated sandwich panels subjected to longitudinal loading along its middle line is investigated experimentally, numerically, and theoretically.

Rare‐earth catalysts regulate lithium–sulfur battery chemistry through f‐orbital–mediated interactions, enabling simultaneous polysulfide adsorption and catalytic conversion on conductive carbon hosts. This synergistic control suppresses the shuttle effect, accelerates redox kinetics, and guides stable Li2S nucleation, providing a mechanistic framework

Unconventional Hysteretic Charge Filling in Moiré‐Reconstructed Helical Trilayer Graphene
In helical trilayer graphene, sequential twisting reconstructs the moiré landscape into periodic domains separated by aperiodic boundaries. Longitudinal transport reveals sweep‐direction‐dependent hysteresis, while the Hall response traces this behavior to hysteretic charge filling at the aperiodic boundaries.

An equivalent model of corrugated panels with axial and bending coupling [PDF]
Abstract In this paper, modification of an existing equivalent model of the corrugated panel is investigated. The axial and bending coupling of the corrugated panel supplements the previous equivalent properties when the corrugated panel has a fixed boundary condition.

Numerical study of the steel plate shear walls with different corrugation shapes inside the sandwich panels under the seismic loading condition [PDF]
Steel plate shear walls are widely employed as lateral force-resisting systems in low- to high-rise buildings. While the infill plate critically influences cyclic performance, conventional flat plates exhibit limited energy dissipation and susceptibility

ABSTRACT This work discusses the thermal performance of magnetized hybrid nanofluid flow over a variable porous stretchable surface, emphasizing the underlying physical mechanisms governing heat and mass transfer. The Cattaneo–Christov flux model is used in place of Fourier's and Fick's laws to incorporate relaxation effects, ensuring a more realistic ...
