Optimized Design of Pipe Elbows for Erosion Wear
Multiphase flows are widely used to transport solid–liquid mixtures in oil and gas fields. The pipeline structures used can suffer damage from the high-pressure sand-carrying fracturing fluid, causing erosion and wear failures in the engineering field ...

Surface impedance formalism for a metallic beam pipe with small corrugations
A metallic pipe with wall corrugations is of special interest in light of recent proposals to use such a pipe for the generation of terahertz radiation and for energy dechirping of electron bunches in free electron lasers.

Aeroacoustics of corrugated pipes
In thin walled pipes corrugations provide local stiffness while allowing global flexibility. This unique characteristic makes corrugated pipes convenient for applications ranging from domestic appliances to natural gas transportation. At critical conditions, however, the flow through these pipes drives self-sustained flow oscillations that lead to high-

Elastic Local Buckling Analysis of a Sandwich Corrugated Steel Plate Pipe-Arch in Underground Space
In underground spaces, corrugated steel plate (CSP) pipe-arches may experience local buckling instability, which can subsequently lead to the failure of the entire structure.

Our study is focused on the singing risers phenomenon which is encountered in corrugated channels under flow. Internal corrugations are responsible for flow instabilities that synchronize with longitudinal acoustic modes of the channel giving powerful pure tones. Experiments are performed in a specifically designed facility.
